You can also use a nit comb to spread your own natural remedy through the hair. This will ensure every strand is coated from the root to the tip, to ensure maximum damage on your head lice infestation.

Just wanted to say for girls use hair straightners they kill them, the eggs and lice, a friend told me this when her daughter got them, my boys just got them for the first time, they now look like they have come out of the army, I would rather them have short hair than nits ohhhh shiver, feeling for the mums with girls

Thank you for the info. I have been fighting these things for a while. My daughter has long thick hair and it seems there is no getting rid of them. But thanks to your info..I now understand their life cycle and will be going after them with a vengeance!

I have three children and I have dealt with quite a few infestations over the years. The approach I have used is broadly the approach outlined here but all I have ever needed to remove the little blighters was shampoo and a nit comb.

It may take 8 hours to drown them but 5 minutes in very soapy hair seems to be long enough that they let go and I can comb them out fairly easily. Just doing this every few days has worked every time.

Hi, I just bought your .PDF book, REALLY helpful. One question, for the Zap technique with the essential oils, do you have a specific recipe to combine the oils. It does not seem to mention how much of each oil to mix.
